Leslie Zerbe

Leslie “Les” Paul Zerbe, 78, died Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston- Salem, N.C. He was born in Crosby, N.a., on June 17, 1946, to Ludwig Zerbe and Lorraine Adams Zerbe.

He was a missionary bush pilot in Africa, Alaska and Costa Rica from where they took an emergency flight back to North Carolina due to leg infection from stepping on glass and, in the process of tests, found stage four cancer.

Ludwig, Paul, Otto and Ben Zerbe were brothers and Ludwig and Ben were missionaries in Africa and Japan, respectively. Paul and Otto founded the Zerbe Brothers of Lustre that was moved to Glasgow in more recent years.

He was a faithful servant to the Lord. He was a unique missionary bush pilot. He was a strong patriot and loved his country very much.
