Defendants Change Pleas In District Court

Changes of pleas and probation revocation hearings were among the areas covered during the district court’s docket in Wolf Point on Wednesday, April 16.

Tyler Shane Granley changed his plea to guilty for the misdemeanor charges of resisting arrest and obstructing a peace officer. He originally was charged with the felony count of assault on a peace officer, but that charge was dropped as part of a plea agreement.

District judge Benjamin Fosland followed the joint plea agreement by sentencing Granley to six months in the Roosevelt County detention center with no time suspended. Granley was also fined $500.

Natasha Moncivaiz of Pueblo, Colo., changed her plea to guilty for the charges of possession with the intent to distribute meth and possession of a dangerous drug (fentanyl). She admitted that she traveled from Colorado to Wolf Point in January with the intention of distributing meth and that she also was in possession of fentanyl.

Fosland ordered a pre sentencing investigation for Moncivaiz.

Mada Martell Bergie admitted to violating three terms on her probation requirements. Violations included that her whereabouts were unknown, that her residence was unknown and she failed to call her probation/ parole officer. Her suspended sentence was revoked. Fosland sentenced Bergie to two years at the Montana State Women’s Prison. She was given credit of 27 days served.

Richelle Mary Melbourne admitted to violating three terms of her probation requirements. Violations were failure to report, failure to be employed or in a program and failure to report a residence. She had a five-year deferred sentence for criminal endangerment. A sentencing hearing was scheduled for May 5.

John David Panasuk admitted to three probation violations including traveling outside the county, not giving notice of a residence and communicating with others who were on probation. A disposition hearing was scheduled for May 27.

Whitley Raquel Arredondo Adams denied three alleged probation violations. The allegations include failure to comply with all laws and ordinances, being present in a casino and using either alcohol or illegal drugs. An adjudication hearing was scheduled for May 27.
