Chamber Planning To Have Concert For Stampede

After some discussion, board members of the Wolf Point Chamber of Commerce agreed to pursue having a band concert on Saturday night of the Wolf Point Wild Horse Stampede.

JD Stensland, organizer of the ranch rodeo, suggests adding a $5 per Stampede ticket for Saturday night’s performance and that amount could help cover some of the concert costs.

Board member Clint Long cautioned that the Chamber needs to be financially responsible, but he will join other Chamber members to make the concert a success.

Bars could provide concerts on Thursday and Friday nights during Stampede.

Board members elected new leadership positions for the next year. Elected were Nicole Miller as president, Keith Higgins as vice president and Arlyss Long as secretary/ treasurer.

Chamber director Jayden Diener discussed the success of the Reimagining Rural sessions in Wolf Point. Local projects being pursued include Mayor Chris Dschaak’s burned and vacant building non-profit, “Take Action Tuesday” led by Rosie Kurowawa, Nellie’s Park revitalization led by city council member Dean Mahlum and Movies and Music in the Park being organized by Jaki Harada.

Diener reports that the Chamber has 38 paid members for the year for a total of $12,575. In addition, $550 has been donated to the Chamber via a donation box on the dues form.

Jeff Presser is looking for a replacement to take over the stadium committee.

Chamber members are working on a final quote for the T-Mobile Hometown Grant. Maximum grant is $50,000. The project is replacing the wood of the east grandstands at the Stampede grounds.
