Following last week’s record-setting cold, the region has been experiencing hazardous road conditions, including a layer of ice under recent snowfall, as well as freezing fog and hoarfrost limiting visibility. Mail delivery along U.S. Highway 2 was delayed on Jan. 22.

U.S. Attorney’s Office Rules Riediger Information Isn’t Brady Material
The U.S. Attorney’s Office was consulted on Jan. 10, regarding a letter from Roosevelt County Attorney Janet Christoffersen. The letter featured information that was provided to her, which she determined was Giglio/ Brady material against Fort Peck tribal narcotics officer Jonah Riediger.
After reviewing the information, the U.S. Attorney’s Office notified the Fort Peck Tribes Department

Knudsen Asks Court To Block Emissions Rule
Montana Attorney General Austin Knudsen asked a district court Friday, Jan. 19, to block the Biden administration’s greenhouse gas emissions rule while litigation proceeds. The rule would require states to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from vehicles on its roadways to help achieve President Biden’s economy-wide goal of having “net-zero” emissions by 2050.

Livestock Reports Due March 1
Montanans have until March 1 to report the number of each type of livestock they own and to pay the per capita fees set yearly by the Montana Board of Livestock.
This is the first year the payment due date has been March 1. The Board of Livestock has also changed per capita fee rates this year.

For the 18th year in a row, Alexander (Zander) Blewett, III, a trial lawyer from the personal injury law firm of Hoyt & Blewett PLLC in Great Falls, has offered three $1,000 scholarships to the top student/wrestlers around the state of Montana for Classes AA, A and B/C.
The scholarships are awarded to the top wrestler from each school classification who has displayed the best combined
