The monthly meeting of the Bainville Town Council was called to order at 7 p.m. by Mayor Toby Romo at the Bainville Town Hall. Also present were Carol Rasmussen, Will Rathbun, John Gilligan by telephone and Billie Jo Cochran. Guests included Cora Norton, Darrell Rasmussen, Lyle Lambert and Kirk Panasuk. The agenda was approved as amended with the addition of a building permit for Jeff Holte.

The third season of Montana PBS Reports: IMPACT will premiere with a new episode Sept. 12. The episode examines two proposed amendments to the Montana Constitution. The first, Constitutional Initiative 126, would end the practice of each political party having its own primary ballot and create a system where all candidates appear on the same ballot, with the top four vote-getters advancing

The Fort Peck Tribes Cultural Resource Department is presenting the 25th annual Cultural Fair Sept. 23-26 in Poplar. The event will be held at American Legion Park. Fort Peck Tribes Cultural Resources Department director Dyan Youpee said, there will be presentations by Fort Union Trading Post, Pipestone National Park, Battle of Little Bighorn NPS, Fish, Wildlife and Parks, Lewis and Clark Historic
