Glenn Nelson Strader, 77, of Wolf Point passed away at his home on Thursday, Sept. 19, 2024. He was born to Alfred and Hazel (Catlin) Strader at his Aunt Helen Mitchell’s house in Frankfort, Kansas, on Oct. 30, 1946. Glenn accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior at age 14. His first job was with Strader Drilling Company for $3 an hour. After graduating from Sabetha High School in 1964, Glenn attended Calvary Bible College in Kansas City, Mo., and Grace Bible Institute in Omaha, Neb. He met his wife, Maxine Toavs, at college and told other students they were already dating before they actually were. Maxine recognized his voice on the phone as someone from her speech class! They were married in Wolf Point, Mont., on Aug. 20, 1966. In 1967, Glenn received his “License to Preach” from his American Baptist Church in Sabetha, Kansas, and was ordained into the ministry at his first church, the Bancroft Community Church, at Goff, Kansas. Their daughter, Helen, was born during this time. Glenn later served churches in Stella, Neb., and Shubert, Neb. Two sons, Rodney and Gerald, were also born during this time. In 1979, Glenn was self-employed with Strader Construction. The family moved to Wolf Point, Mont., Maxine’s hometown. There, he worked at Citizen’s Bank and United Grain Corporation as a bookkeeper. In 1986, Glenn and Maxine went back to college and obtained their teacher’s licenses in Minot, N.D. Glenn graduated with a BSE in business and psychology and then taught business, computer, and yearbook classes at the Junior/ Senior High School at Wolf Point. Mary Ann Kinnison, 78, of Crosby, passed away at St. Luke’s Hospital Sept. 12, 2024. A memorial service will be 2 p.m., Monday, Sept. 23, 2024, at Concordia Lutheran Church. Cremation has taken place. Mary Ann was born in Poplar, Mont., Sept. 2, 1946, to Ed and Ruth Dowse. She grew up on their family farm in Redwater, Mont. She graduated in Wolf Point, Mont., in 1965. Her career of working at the Treasurer’s Office in the Roosevelt County Courthouse led her to dating Donald Kinnison. They later married Sept. 12, 1970. Together they purchased Mr. K’s in Crosby in 1979. She loved the social aspect and her hard work ethic showed it. She is now able to see her loved ones in Heaven, joining her husband, Don; parents, Ed and Ruth Dowse; brother, Chuck; sister-in-law, Phyllis Dowse; nephew, Ron Peterson; Don's parents, Francis and Delma; and brother-inlaw, Robert Kinnison.
