Froid School Seeing Improvements This Fall
It’s been a fall of a few improvements at Froid School. Those changes have included a new preschool program and a fresher look in the gym.
The pre-school program features a total of 11 students, most of them are 4 years old.
“It’s absolutely amazing,” Froid Superintendent Steve Mayhue said. “That’s a great amount. We’re so impressed.”
The gym project was part of the construction work done at the school during the summer months. Work included refinishing the floor and re-painting the inside of the gym.
“We’re finishing up the entry way of the gym now,” Mayhue said. “So it will have more of an inviting feel.”
As far as staffing, Mayhue said school officials are in the process of hiring a special education teacher. The school district could also use additional elementary teachers.
“I would love to have another elementary teacher or two, but we can make do,” Mayhue said. “In a perfect world, we would have a teacher at every grade level.”
In his second year in Froid, Mayhue is enjoying the job. “I love it,” he said of Froid.
