Teen Dies In Vehicle Crash

A 15-year-old female from Sand Springs/Jordan died in a one-vehicle fatality in Garfield County on Wednesday, Oct. 30.

According to the Montana Highway Patrol, the crash happened at 8:57 p.m. on Montana Highway 2002 near mile marker 178.

The report reads that the Chevrolet Suburban was westbound. The vehicle went off the right side of the roadway. The victim overcorrected, causing the vehicle to overturn in the ditch. The driver was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected. She was pronounced dead on scene.

She has been identified as Claire Lynn Potts.

A 16-year-old male passenger was injured and transported to the hospital in Garfield County.
