Joni Johnson
Joni D. Perry Johnson, 43, of Fort Kipp died Sept. 24, 2024, in Billings.
She was born to Adrian and Jackie Perry on Dec. 19, 1980, the second daughter of four. She is also known as Sina Ota Uhye Win, “Has Many Blankets Woman.”
She attended Brockton Schools until her graduation, then she continued her education at Haskell Indian College where she met Edmund Johnson Jr. From this marriage came her sons, Yamni and AJ. They later divorced but remained close friends. She later met Carl “Kidd” Payne. From this union came one son, James.
She enjoyed time with her sons, family and friends. In her free time, she loved to play darts, travel and shop. She lived a fulfilling life of laughter. Her laugh with closed eyes showed her funny side and that laugh will never be forgotten.
She is survived by her sons, Yamni Johnson and James Payne; sisters, Taelynn Moss, Jackie Christian, Freda Christian and Dannis Duquette; and brothers, Cal Christian and Rich Terbasket.
She was preceded in death by her son, Adrian AJ Johnson; sisters, Bobbie Perry and Andrea Perry; brothers, Tommy Dude Christian and James Christian; and granddaughter, Laila Christian.
Funeral services were held on Friday, Oct. 4, at the James Black Dog Center in Fort Kipp. Cremation followed. Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel assisted the family with the arrangements.
