Local Extension Agents Receive National Recognition
The National Association of County Agriculture Agents held its annual meeting and professional development conference in Dallas, Texas.
Wendy Becker and Shelley Mills of MSU Extension for Roosevelt and Valley counties were awarded the national finalists in the agriculture awareness and appreciation award for their work in educating beekeepers across Montana and beyond.
Over the course of the last few years, they have held education meetings across counties, hands-on classes in schools, field days, with conservation groups, and have assisted in the pollinator and innovative lab at the Fort Peck Interpretive Center.
Their efforts were recognized in an awards luncheon and they presented a program at the meetings.
They also received second place for their educational poster among 110 posters. The meeting next year will be hosted by Montana Association of County Agricultural Agents in Billings. The meeting was last held in Montana during 1981.
