Council Talks Road, Water Projects

The Culbertson Town Council held its regular meeting July 8. Council members received an update on the Big Sky Field Airport SRE building. A reworked building plan is being developed, with the town’s portion coming to approximately $50,000 out of a $1 million project budget.

Bids are expected to go out on the project in the fall.

Road and water projects were discussed. Monies for the projects have been pledged in the amount of approximately $294,000 with $48,000 available this year.

Public works director Bob Jasper said the town should check existing water lines before moving on to any paving projects.

Jeremy Fadness with WWC Engineering told the council that the lagoon tiles have been removed and the bathhouse survey has been completed. A recent donation to the bathhouse project via the Culbertson Women’s Club was received from an MDU Resources Foundation grant in the amount of $2,000.

A site sketch plan was approved for a covered deck on 221 2nd Ave. W.

Meeting minutes, financial reports and claims were approved.

The next regular meeting is set for Aug. 12 at 6:30 p.m.
