Commissioners Approve Hirings During Meeting
Roosevelt County Commissioners approved a memorandum of agreement involving the Montana Department of Transportation Aeronautics Division and Wolf Point’s L.M. Clayton Airport during a meeting on Monday, June 3.
The agreement allows four weather cameras to be purchased. Commissioner Gordon Oelkers explained the cameras cost $8,000 total and a 50 percent grant will be received. Roosevelt County and City of Wolf Point will each pay $2,000.
Commissioner Robert Toavs said the cameras will help improve safety for the pilots.
The devices will allow pilots to better see weather conditions on the ground before landing.
Also during the meeting, commissioners appointed Clyta Dillon to the library board and Clay Peterson to the weed board.
Hired for the weed district were Dawson Bergum, Kylie Bergum, Reese Moon, Brooks Solem and Gavin Deen.
Hired for the county fair were Harrison Green, Lilly Johnson, Eli TurningHeart, Colt’n Reese, Trevor Powell and Avrie Nordlund.
Kalia Featherston was hired as a temporary seasonal administrative assistant at the Extension office.
During public comment, Wolf Point resident Bill Juve hoped the mowers would soon go out to work on the walking path towards the rodeo grounds.
