Wolf Point’s young baseball team put impressive efforts together during a home double- header against Sidney on Sunday, June 2.

The Yellowjackets lost the first game by a 17-8 final, but Wolf Point struck for five runs in the bottom of the second inning to highlight the performance.

A hit by Carlo Weiser knocked home two of the runs. Damari Martinez also connected for a RBI single in the frame.

The second game was closer as Wolf Point fell by a 15-10 final. The pitching of Weiser kept the game low scoring during the early part of the contest. A nice catch by second baseman Evan Kawasaki left the bases loaded for Sidney in the top of the third for a 6-3 game.

Behind by an 8-3 margin, the Yellowjackets accounted for six runs to take the lead. Wolf Point players scored in the inning included James Corpron, Xayvian Robinson, Reed Garfield, Keyden Beston, Weiser and Kawasaki.

Sidney responded with seven runs in the top of the fifth to gain a 15-9 advantage. Wolf Point’s Garfield scored in the bottom of the fifth for the 15-10 final.
