Culbertson Competes At Glasgow Meet

Culbertson’s boys’ track squad accounted for 160 points to take first place at the Jean Dreikosen Memorial Meet held in Glasgow on Saturday, April 20. Nashua placed second with 79 points.

Ian Snyder, Brooks Solem and Plenny Williams were each double-winners for the Cowboys. Snyder finished first in the 200 at 25.2 and first in the 400 at 61.1. He also placed second in the 100 at 11.9 seconds.

Solem earned top honors in the 300-meter hurdles at 50.8 seconds and high jump by clearing 5-4. Williams took first in the javelin at 1344 and discus at 129-9.

Also placing first for the Cowboys were Nyreece Halvorson with a best of 39-9 in the shot put and the 1600-meter relay team of Aden Drake, Williams, Harrison Green and Cal Steppler with a time of 4:26.9.

Placing second were Halvorson in the discus, Solem in the javelin, Drake in the 300-meter hurdles and Green in the 400.

Taking third were Green and Halvorson in the 100 and Williams in the 300-meter hurdles. Placing fourth were Steppler in the 3200, Williams in the shot put and Mark Kirkaldie in the javelin.

Cowboys placing fifth were Solem in the long jump, Drake in the triple jump, Kirkaldie in the discus and Steppler in the 1600. Earning sixth were Chris Chilson in the 400 and 800 and Logan Berwick in the shot put and discus.

Culbertson’s girls scored 82 points for third place in the team standings. Hinsdale topped the field with 128 points and Turner had 117.

Earning first for the Cowgirls were Destiny Thompson with a mark of 105-4 in the javelin and Rebekah Ellerkamp with a time of 1:16.3 seconds in the 400.

Placing second were Ivy Colvin in the 400 and Jazzmin Fugere in the javelin.

Placing third were Fugere in the discus and shot put, Jade LoneBear in the 1600, Ellerkamp in the 800 and Thompson in the 100. Taking fourth were Ellerkamp in the 200 and Payton Labatte in the 100-meter hurdles.

LoneBear finished fifth in the 800. Colvin took sixth in the 100.
