Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Report

The Roosevelt County Sheriffs Office responded to 49 calls from March 18-25.

March 18

Deputies assisted the Fort Peck Tribes Department of Law and Justice with a report of an adult male threatening a female with a machete. Law enforcement searched the area and didn’t find the male.

Deputies assisted the Wolf Point Police Department with a report of a male and female arguing on Idaho Street. They found an adult female crying by a doghouse. She refused to answer any questions.

Deputies responded to a report of a man passed out on Main Street sidewalk in Wolf Point. No medical attention was needed. David Wayne Menz, 55, was cited for public intoxication.

March 19

Deputies responded to the Bainville area after a complaint that there were a lot of youth riding bikes, a go-cart and four-wheelers in the area.

March 20

Deputies assisted FPTDLJ and WPPD regarding a male carrying a gun in Wolf Point. Once the male was located, it was discovered that he had a BB gun. Dylan Wetsit was cited with four offenses and taken to tribal jail.

March 21

Deputies were called to Fort Kipp to remove an intoxicated individual from a residence. A female was cited for unlawful possession of an intoxicating substance while being under the age of 21.

March 22

Deputies assisted the Montana Highway Patrol on Montana Highway 16 at mile marker 87 for a crash when the driver apparently fell asleep and wrecked his vehicle. Deputies performed traffic control.

March 23

Deputies responded to tribal housing in Poplar regarding a male standing in the yard of his ex wife’s residence. He was transported to another residence.

Deputies responded to Jackson Street in Wolf Point where individuals were having an argument regarding two dogs fighting. The individuals agreed to keep the dogs apart.

Deputies responded to U.S. Highway 2 in front of Town Pump regarding a female who was laying on the ground. She was transported to another location and released to a guardian.

March 25

Deputies assisted FPTDLJ in Brockton about a report of a possible overdose. A female had made a threat to take too much of her medication. An ambulance also responded to the scene.

In addition to the citations above, the RCSO had the following activity: Wolf Point city limits, 15; Wolf Point rural, two; Poplar city limits, three; Culbertson town, seven; Culbertson rural, three; Bainville town, one; Bainville rural, one; Fort Kipp, one; total, 35.
