Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Report

The Roosevelt County Sheriffs Office responded to 59 calls March 11-18.

March 11

Deputies responded to Town Pump in Wolf Point for a report that a former employee was threatening employees. The party left before deputies arrived. Deputies did make contact with the suspect and told them to stop the behavior.

Deputies responded to the Swap Shop in Wolf Point to assist state probation officers with a report of a possible firearms violation by an attempted customer.

March 12

Deputies assisted an ambulance crew and the Fort Peck Tribes Department of Law and Justice on a motor vehicle crash at mile marker 621 on U.S. Highway 2. Two individuals were transported by the ambulance.

Deputies assisted the Sheridan County Sheriff’s Office near Froid on Montana Highway 16 after a report of a suspicious male walking on the road. Someone thought that individual was a wanted person.

Deputies assisted FPTDLJ in tribal court. A female was transported to the tribal jail.

March 13

Deputies assisted at the detention center to serve a federal warrant on an adult male.

Deputies responded to a report in Bainville of a child walking around by herself at 11 p.m. The deputy conducted a welfare of child investigation. The child was returned to parents.

Deputies observed and talked with two females arguing in the Tribal Express parking lot in Poplar. There were no injuries.

March 14

Deputies responded to the Bainville area for a report of stolen check blanks from a pickup truck. The incident is under investigation.

Deputies responded to Poplar for a medical assistance call. An adult male showed up at a residence with unknown injuries. An ambulance wasn’t needed.

Deputies received a call about a possible missing person, which was already reported to law enforcement. Deputies reached out to Texas authorities for a welfare check on the adult female.

March 15

Deputies provided mutual aid to McCone County for a vehicle stuck in the mid just across the river. FPTDLJ also assisted. One male was arrested by the McCone County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to the Froid area after family members were concerned about an adult male. After an hour long search, the family located the male and they all returned home. Deputies received a report of a young child who was walking outside in the cold. The parents showed up, and no charges were filed.

March 17

Deputies assisted FPTDLJ for the search of a missing young boy in Poplar. The boy and his friend were located safely in the river bottoms area.
