Poplar Wins Top Honors At AAU State Wrestling Meet

Poplar’s wrestlers earned first-place honors for the girls’ large team division at the Montana State AAU tournament during the weekend.

Capturing first-place honors were Cali Gorder at 90 pounds schoolgirl and Angelina Escarcega at 126 pounds elite.

Placing second were Caydee Gorder at 80 pounds novice, Audrey Swallers at 80 pounds schoolgirl and Alara Parshall at 113 pounds cadet.

Liberty Boadle placed third at 100 pounds schoolgirl. Taking fourth were Masina Youpee at 125 pounds, Amelia Spotted Bird at 75 pounds midget and Renlee Archambault at 45 pounds bantam.

Laityn Allen placed fifth at 115 pounds schoolgirl. Aniston Kreusel took fifth at 70 pounds midget. Riley Swallers was sixth at 70 pounds novice.

In the boys’ division, Navarjo Escarcega earned first at 138 pounds elite.

Placing third were Jayden Eder at 150 schoolboy and Benson Lovan at 140 pounds novice.

Taking fourth was Knox SpottedBull at 130 pounds novice. Hector Yellow Owl took fifth place for cadet heavyweight.
