Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Report

The Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Office responded to 52 calls between Feb. 26 and March 4.

Feb. 27

Deputies responded to a call in Culbertson from a couple from Tennessee who needed vehicle help. They didn’t have phone service and their vehicle’s battery was dead. Deputies and members of the public assisted in starting the vehicle.

Deputies responded to the Wolf Point High School for a report of a juvenile out of control. The student had allegedly assaulted a school staff member. Contact was made with the parents. The juvenile was cited into tribal court.

There was a report of gun shots being fired in Wolf Point. Deputies and the Fort Peck Tribes Department of Law and Justice didn’t find any evidence of a shooting.

Feb. 28

Deputies received a request for assistance for a possible parole violation. Jason Daugherty, 46, was charged with possession of dangerous drug and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Deputies responded to a disturbance at the Roosevelt County jail. An inmate had damaged a mattress. Ezra Rodgers of Wolf Point was charged with criminal mischief and criminal endangerment.

Deputies responded to the Bainville area on Highway 327 to check on a vehicle parked near the railroad tracks. An individual was asleep in the running vehicle. Bronc Bilquist was charged with driving under the influence - first offense, failure to have drivers license in immediate possession and possession of intoxicants while under the age of 21.

Feb. 29

Deputies assisted FPTDLJ on a report of a women being choked in Wolf Point. When arriving on the scene, law enforcement was told that everything was fine.

March 1

Deputies received a report that there was a lot of blood in the entrance of the Bainville Post Office. The investigation is ongoing.

Deputies conducted a traffic stop in Wolf Point when a male ran a stop sign. The driver was cited for driving in violation of a court order and not having a driver’s license.

Deputies assisted FPTDLJ by taking a male to tribal jail in Poplar.

Deputies assisted the Williams County Sheriffs Office in North Dakota regarding to a report of a vehicle chase. Also assisting was the Richland County Sheriff’s Office. The vehicle went from North Dakota to Fairview. An adult male and juvenile male were cited after the vehicle was stopped south of Culbertson.

March 2

Deputies assisted FPTDLJ at a Poplar residence for a domestic dispute. A juvenile female was transported to another residence.

Deputies received a request from a female who was stranded in Fort Kipp and wanted a ride. Deputies couldn’t locate the female.

March 3

Deputies responded to the Fort Kipp area regarding a report of a stolen vehicle. After the vehicle was located, deputies drove the owner to pick up the vehicle.

March 4

Deputies located a stolen vehicle in the Wolf Point area on East Dawson Street. The case is under investigation.

In addition to the citations above, the RCSO had the following activity: Wolf Point city limits, 19; Wolf Point rural, three; Wolf Point FPHA, two; Poplar rural, two; Culbertson town, six; Culbertson rural, three; Bainville town, two; Bainville rural, 10; Mc-Cone County, one; Williams County, one; Brockton town, two; Brockton rural, five; Fort Kipp, six; total, 65.
