Farm Bureau Foundation Announces Youth Speech Contest

The Montana Farm Bureau Foundation announces its annual Youth Speech Contest which will be held April 4 during the 2024 FFA State Convention at the Billings Metra.

The Youth Speech Contest is open to students in the seventh, eighth and ninth grades who are enrolled in 4-H or FFA. It takes place between 8 a.m. – 10 a.m. in the Laurel Room.

The prepared speech needs to be between 2.5 - 4 minutes in length. Participants must pre-register by March 25 at mfbf.org. The contest results and awards will be presented at the MFB Foundation Booth in the State FFA Convention Trade Show later that day.

Speech topic: Agriculture or Tourism? Which is really Montana’s cash crop? What does the Montana Agriculture Industry need to do to remain competitive and sustainable?

How can we work with the tourism industry to ensure a future for both? Consider the economic impact of each industry in the state. What does the future look like for each of these industries?

Cash prizes: first place = $400, second = $300, third = $200, fourth = $100 and fifth = $50.
