Trustee Positions Up For Election In Area

Three current Wolf Point School District trustees’ current terms expire this May and they could seek re-election to the positions.

The positions that will be open include District 3 where Michael J. Turcotte is the current trustee, District 4 where Elizabeth DeCoteau Lingle is the current trustee and the at-large district position currently held by trustee Mark Zilkoski.

The elections in District 3 and District 4 are for threeyear positions. The at-large spot is for one year to complete a term.

Turcotte won election to the District 3 position in 2023. The election was for the final year of the term that Lawrence Hamilton was elected to in 2021.

Zilkoski was appointed to the school board in November to take over for Bif Loucks, who resigned in September. Both Zilkoski and Ronald Jackson were interviewed by the school board for the position.

In Poplar, three-year terms of current trustees Hilary Gourneau and Tatum Evenson are up for election.

Candidates can file through March 28. Deadline for writein candidates is April 4. Election day is May 7.
