Brockton Splits Contests Against MonDak

Brockton’s boys’ basketball squad came back in the fourth quarter to defeat Mon-Dak, 56-50, on Friday, Feb. 9.

The Warriors led by only a 43-42 margin heading into the fourth period and then outscored the Thunder by a 13-8 margin in the final quarter.

Ronnie Black Dog and Quincy Belgarde scored 13 points each for the Warriors. Colter Nygard added 11 points. Also scoring for Brockton were Miles Boxer with six, Wambidi Yellowhammer with five, Josh Firemoon with five and Kameron Rattling Thunder with three.

Graham Wright scored 21 points for the Thunder.

In the girls’ game, MonDak fought off the Warriors by a 57-56 final.

Brockton led by a 35-32 halftime margin, but MonDak struck for 20 points in the third quarter for a 52-46 lead.

Brockton’s top scorers were Ava Lone Bear with 19, Tamryn Bauer with 17 and Marlene Fish with 12 points.

KayJay First That Walks had three points. Tatawna Youngman and Clara Clampitt added two points each.
