Urdahl Retires From Army
Sgt. First Class Lewis Urdahl has recently retired from the U.S. Army, after serving 20 years. He is the son of Doug and Sandie Urdahl.
Lewis, a native of Froid, served as a combat engineer and jumpmaster with a parachutist badge. He made 67 jumps. During that time, he was deployed to Iraq for one year and Afghanistan for three one-year tours. The last tour was on the Afghan/ Pakistan border. He received the bronze star for actions in combat.
Lewis served for two years a drill sergeant at Ft Jackson boot camp.
His last posting was in Washington, D.C., at the Defense Threat Reduction Agency. He did completed training missions in Ukraine, Jordan and the Philippines.
Lewis is retiring to Columbia, S.C. to be closer to his son.
