Wolf Point Council Passes Wage Increase
The Wolf Point City Council held its regular meeting Jan. 16. A lease agreement with the Transportation Security Administration was approved, per committee recommendation. A related airport cleaning contract was also discussed and Cape Air has renewed its lease of the terminal building at a rate of $800 per month.
Tribal Executive Board member Roxanne Gourneau was on hand to answer council questions during the Fort Peck Tribal Council report.
Planning for Phase 2 of wastewater system improvements is moving forward. The council approved a contract agreement with Great West Engineering at a cost of $383,000. Greg Lukasik with Great West said there should be news about planning grants by Feb, 1.
Wolf Point Police Chief Alisha Morales submitted her monthly activity report. Resignations were received from officers Kyle Goodman, William Charbonneau and Jordan Clark, all effective Dec. 26. A possible move to collect contract training expenses from Goodmaan, Charbonneau and Clark was discussed.
The council passed a $2 increase in wages for all city employees, excepting members of the Police Department.
A resignation for utility billing clerk Calvin Adams was also noted.
Custer Street improvements were discussed. The council is waiting on a request for proposals from the Great Northern Development Corp. in order to move forward.
The next regular council meeting is set for Feb. 20 at 7 p.m.
