Miranda, Toavs File For County Offices

Two individuals filed for Roosevelt County offices during the first day of filing on Thursday, Jan. 11.

Tracy Miranda, who was recently appointed to replace retiring clerk and recorder Cheryl Hansen, filed for clerk and recorder. The election is for the final two years of the current term.

Jeri Toavs filed for re-election as the county’s clerk for district court.

Also on the ballot this year will be an election for county commissioner in district 2. Commissioner Gary Macdonald has announced that he will not seek re-election. Macdonald has served as commissioner for more than 24 years.

Candidates can file for office through March 11.
