Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Report

The Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Office responded to 50 calls from Dec. 22-29.

December 22

Deputies assisted the Fort Peck Tribes Department of Law and Justice and Wolf Point Police Department with a weapon offense call in Wolf Point. An adult male supposedly fired a weapon inside his vehicle. The male was reportedly very upset. The Valley County Sheriff’s Office also assisted in the search. The individual was placed under arrest.

Deputies/coroner received a call to check on an address of a family member in Culbertson. A female was found who died of natural causes.

December 23

Deputies responded to a fatality crash between Fort Kipp and Brockton. Also on the scene were Montana Highway Patrol, FPTDLJ, Culbertson Fire Department, Culbertson and Bainville ambulance services.

Deputies attempted to locate an adult male from Richland County who was wanted for partner/family member assault. The suspect wasn’t found.

A report was received of a rollover vehicle accident on County Road 1041 south of Brockton. The MHP, FPTDLJ and Sheriff Jason Frederick responded. An adult female passenger, who was wet and cold, walked to the reporting party’s house. She provided information of the driver’s location. When Frederick went to the driver’s location, he found Andrew Greybull, 37, attempting to stab another male individual. Frederick secured Greybull in handcuffs. Greybull was charged with disorderly conduct, criminal endangerment and partner or family member assault. He has been on state parole for deliberate homicide.

Deputies assisted the Montana Highway Patrol with a report of an overturned vehicle on Highway 2 east of Brockton. The vehicle, which had two occupants, struck a power pole. The Poplar Fire Department and Poplar ambulance also responded.

December 24

Deputies responded to Tribal Express in Poplar for a report of drug activities. The suspect couldn’t be located.

Deputies responded to Brockton for a report of a disturbance involving an adult male. Shannon Bigleggins Jr., 33, allegedly struck his girlfriend, was intoxicated and stapled his right hand. He was charged with partner/family member assault and transported to the tribal jail.

December 26

Deputies assisted FPTDLJ in trying to locate an adult male near Wolf Point who was having suicidal thoughts. Law enforcement was unable to locate anybody in distress.

December 27

Deputies assisted the WPPD and FPTDLJ regarding a report of a female stealing two cases of alcohol from the Git-n-Go Casino. WPPD made an arrest.

December 28

Deputies responded to Bainville for a complaint from an adult male that he was being stalked by another adult male. Deputies patrolled the area.

Deputies assisted the WPPD on Blaine Street in Wolf Point regarding a complaint of an adult male harassing people. WPPD arrested Sam Birdtail Sr. and he was taken to tribal jail.

Deputies assisted the WPPD and FPTDLJ regarding a report of a man who was allegedly stabbed near Wolf Point’s underpass. He was beaten up and his shoes were taken. Wolf Point’s ambulance responded. The report showed that he wasn’t stabbed.

In addition to the citations above, the RCSO had the following activity: Wolf Point city limits, 10; Wolf Point rural, two; Wolf Point FPHA areas, seven; Poplar city limits, eight; Poplar rural, one; Po Culbertson town, four; Culbertson rural, five; Bainville town, one; Bainville rural, five; Brockton town, six; Brockton rural, one; Fort Kipp, two; total, 57.
