Senior Profile Grainger Enjoys Many Activities In Froid

Froid High School senior Solomon Grainger is pleased that he can participate in many different activities at the school.
Grainger’s list of involvement includes Business Professionals of America, Explore America, FFA, football and golf.
He says his favorite events in BPA are advanced Excel and entrepreneurship. He has placed both at the regional and state levels in those events and others such as advanced Word.
“I’m hoping to get to nationals and hopefully place,” Grainger said of his goals for this BPA season.
As far as FFA, Grainger said his favorite part is showing animals. He has fared well showing pigs through the years.
“They are easy to work with and have made me good money,” Grainger explained.
He added that the personalities of pigs are beneficial when showing them.
Grainger has performed well for Froid/Lake’s golf team. He had the low score for the Red Hawks at last season’s divisional tournament.
“It’s relaxing and enjoyable,” Grainger said of golf. “I can depend on myself.”
He appreciates that he was a member of a state championship football team for Froid/Lake and enjoys the memories of that sport.
In the classroom, his favorite subject is history. “I find learning about the past interesting,” Grainger said.
His favorite teacher is art instructor Duane Larsen.
“He’s a good guy. He makes learning about art fun,” Grainger said.
A current project for art students is building a Red Hawk statue to be located in front of the school’s gym.
His hobbies include hunting, fishing and playing video games.
Grainger’s plans after high school include being a pre-med major at Montana State University in Bozeman. He wants to be a physical therapist or something similar and plans to settle down near the Froid area.
