Great Northern Development Corp. recently announced that Shaylee Wahl has joined its team as the food and ag development specialist for northeastern Montana.

GNDC executive director Tori Matejovsky explained that the mission of the Eastern Montana Food and Ag Development Center is to foster agricultural growth, support local farmers and promote food security to build resilient communities.

“In her role, she will provide critical support to local ag producers, specialty crop producers and other similar businesses as they look to grow and expand,” Matejovsky said. “She will also provide resources for local communities and organizations focusing on the food and ag industry.”

Wahl grew up in Circle and recently moved back to the area with her husband. Her hobbies include roping and reading.

Her experience includes a background in economic development, tourism, ranching and meat processing.

The Eastern Montana Food and Ag Development Center offers services to residents in a total of 11 eastern Montana counties: Carter, Daniels, Dawson, Fallon, Garfield, McCone, Prairie, Roosevelt, Richland, Sheridan, Valley and Wibaux counties and also includes the Fort Peck Indian Reservation.
