Barbara Matthews

Barbara Jean (Milne) Matthews Milne, 78, died Oct. 27, 2023, at Trinity Hospital in Wolf Point.

She was born Sept. 29, 1945, to William and Jessie (Morning) Milne in Lewistown. She attended many schools throughout her years, graduating from Terry High School in 1964.

She then went on to put herself through nursing school, graduating with her LPN license in 1966. She worked five years in Havre before moving to Wolf Point. She worked at Trinity Hospital for 10 years and later worked for the Poplar Hospital for 30 years, opening two pharmacies and retiring in 2010.

During her last year of college, she met Odis F. Matthews and married him that same year. Soon after, they welcomed their first daughter, Cindy. Not long after, they moved to Wolf Point where they made their forever home. A few years later, their daughter Kim was born.

She loved being a wife, mother and nurse, but above all a grandma. She loved spending time with her family and especially her great grandkids.

She is survived by her husband, Odis, of 57 years; daughter, Cindy Neuleib of Sidney; daughter, Kim of Poplar; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Ron Milne; and sisters, Bonnie Tomlinson, and Betty Carter.

Cremation has taken place. Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel has been entrusted with arrangements.
