Rural residents appreciate the maintenance people for mowing the grass on the county roads as the changing weather approaches.
Fall has come. This brings harvest festivals in the community churches. The Lustre MB Church celebrates God’s faithfulness at its Harvest Festival Sunday, Oct. 1.
The Lustre EMB Church will have Harvest Festival Oct. 8 and their speakers are Elwyn and Linda Goossen in radio work in South America, and Mr.. and Mrs. Sandro Dorsainvil of El Roi, Haiti.
Dr. Frank Lenihan, chaplain of the Lustre Christian High School, held a prayer walk Sunday night at LCHS where folks could quietly consider and pray for the prayer requests of each teacher and the dorm staff and board chair in their respective rooms.
Awana has begun and there is a good group this year. Come and help listen to the youth recite their memory work.
Philip Daniel Kliewer, son of Alvin and Elisabeth Kliewer, died at his home in Atkinson, Neb. I remember him as a very good pianist for the LCHS choir. His obituary appears on page five.
