Days are running short for people to enjoy the historical exhibits provided at the Wolf Point Area Museum this summer.

Curator Sarah Wagner said the museum will close for the year on Sept. 15, or close to that date. A board meeting is scheduled for Sept. 12.

“It’s been about normal,” Wagner said of the amount of visitors to the museum this summer.

One benefit has been participants of the Harvest Host program coming to Wolf Point. Through the program, travelers in camping sites throughout the country through a yearly membership. Travelers are interested in seeing museums, wineries, farms and other unique locations.

Wagner said about 40-50 individuals come to the museum through the program annually.

A new exhibit at the museum is a saddle made by the late Gene Martin of the Wolf Point Saddlery. The saddle was loaned by family member Randy Martin for five years.

“It has a display binder, which is nice,” Wagner said.

The museum is opened from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesdays through Saturdays.
