Authorities Search For Possible Drowning Victim

Roosevelt County authorities continued searching early this week for a possible drowning victim in the Missouri River in Wolf Point.

Roosevelt County Sheriff Jason Frederick said his office was notified about someone who might be in the river at 12:46 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 26.

Frederick and another officer searched for three and a half hours on boat during Saturday.

Stonehail Moccasin, 18, of Wolf Point is the missing individual. Family members on Facebook said that he jumped into the river to save two friends who had accidentally fallen in.

The Fort Peck Tribes were conducting a search on Monday.

The sheriff’s office was also on the scene and planned to continue searching on Tuesday.
