Weather Briefing For Month Provided

Service provided its weather- ready monthly briefing for July during a video conference on Tuesday, July 18.
Nick Vertz, of Billings, noted that a cold front early in the week helped pushed the smoke from Canadian fires out of the area. He expected the smoke not to be as concentrated in upcoming days.
Recent weather events in Montana have featured hail storms including tennis ball size hail reported in Decker, near the Montana-Wyoming border.
Drought reports list northeastern Montana as “abnormally dry.” Conditions have improved during the last couple of weeks.
The 8- to 14-day forecast features above normal temperatures and below normal precipitation. Eastern Montana was expected to experience temperatures above 100 degrees.
“It’s been a while since we’ve see triple digits,” Patrick Gilchrist of the Glasgow station said.
During the conference call, Scott Rozanski was introduced as the new warning coordinator meteorologist for the Glasgow station.
