Child’s Body Found In Water At Fort Peck

Valley County Sheriff Tom Boyer reported that, on Thursday July 6, at 8:40 a.m., the Valley County Sheriff’s Office responded to one of the cabin areas of Fort Peck Lake for an unresponsive 2-year-old boy found in the water.

The child, who was from Billings, had been staying with relatives in the area.

The sheriff’s statement did not identify which cabin area the child was found near.

The office of the sheriff/ coroner will conduct a cause and manner of death investigation. No further details, including the child’s identity, were available as of presstime.
