Wolf Point Prepares For 100th Wild Horse Stampede
Wolf Point is ready to celebrate the Wild Horse Stampede for the 100th time this week.
The 100th Stampede will start Wednesday, July 5, with a pitchfork fondue running from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Big Sky Corral located at the Marvin Brookman Stadium.
Fans can check out the Wild Horse Ranch Rodeo beginning at 6 p.m. A calcutta for the 10 ranch rodeo teams will begin at 5:30 p.m. After the rodeo, a concert featuring Kyle Shobe and the Walk âEm Boys promises to be a great time.
Fun on Thursday, July 6, starts with the annual Tough Enough to Wear Pink golf tournament at the Wolf Point Airport Golf Course at 10 a.m.
There is an horsemanship clinic sponsored by Spotted Bull Recovery Resource Center at the Wadopana Grounds from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. A petting zoo, sponsored by FPCC Agriculture Department, will also be held at the Wadopana Grounds from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
An all-class reunion is planned from 1 to 4 p.m. on Thursday at the Wolf Point Elks Event Center.
Families can enjoy carnival activities starting at 5 p.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
Gates open at 6 p.m. and the Wild Horse Stampede RAM rodeo begins at 7 p.m. A Fort Peck Sioux honor song and dancers starts at 6:30 p.m. as part of the opening ceremonies.
A street dance is scheduled to start at 9:30 p.m.
The Catholic Hamburger Stand is open on Main Street from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday.
On Friday, the Wolf Point Community Organization is planning family events at the Wadopana Celebration Grounds from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. A stick game tournament will take place with registration beginning at 3 p.m.
The parade begins on Main Street on 1 p.m. on Friday. This yearâs theme is â100 Years of the Granddaddy of Montana Rodeo.â
The 100 Club will have its lawn art and âchair-ityâ auction at Sherman Park after the parade.
A Stampede pool day is scheduled from 2:30m to 5:30 p.m. at the Wolf Point City Pool. The main event will be cardboard boat races.
The Wild Horse Stampede Ram Rodeo begins at 7 p.m., with gates opening and a calcutta scheduled at 5:30 p.m. A street dance is set for 9:30 p.m.
You can support the areaâs museum with the annual pancake breakfast from 7 to 11 a.m. at the Wolf Point Area Museum located on U.S. Highway 2.
The Human Stampede, sponsored by NEMHS, begins at 8:30 a.m. at Sherman Park.
A walk/run, sponsored by Spotted Bull Recovery Resource Center, starting at the Wadopana Grounds starts with 8:30 a.m. registration.
A great variety of vendors is lined up for Art in the Park from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Sherman Park on Saturday.
