Hearings Take Place In District Court

Three cases were heard in front of Judge David Cybulski in district court during hearings in Wolf Point on Wednesday, June 14.

Melita D. Mitchell made not guilty pleas to eight charges including child endangerment and driving under the influence of alcohol.

An omnibus hearing was scheduled for July 12. A trial was set for Sept. 14.

Amanda Sharyce Walton admitted to breaking the conditions of her probation during a petition of revocation hearing. She admitted to endangering children on March 23.

Cybulski ordered her to serve four years with the Montana Department of Corrections. She received credit for time in jail and street time.

David Dean Winn made not guilty pleas to six different charges.

The charges included the felony charge of criminal endangerment.

Misdemeanor charges include fleeing or eluding a peace officer, reckless driving and obstructing a peace officer. Violations charged were exceeding speed restrictions and failure to have light lamps on.

According to court records, Winn is charged with driving the motor vehicle upon a highway at a high speed and turning off his vehicle lights while fleeing from peace officers. The report reads that Winn intentionally crashed through a fence while fleeing from law enforcement.
