Work To Start On Evidence Storage Building

Roosevelt County commissioners anticipate construction to begin soon on a new evidence storage building for the sheriff’s office.

John Bach of Interstate Engineering said construction should start in the next couple of weeks during the commissioners’ meeting on Tuesday, June 6.

The building will be located in a vacant corner lot across from the sheriff’s office.

Officials noted the importance of a secured building for law enforcement. The building will be utilized to store evidence and vehicles. The current location has been broken into several times.

The total bid for the project from Corland Construction was $365,250 for the traditional wood frame building.

American Rescue Plan Act funds are anticipated to pay for the project.

Work on the Shotgun Creek Bridge Project near Bainville is also taking place.
