There was a lot of excitement in the air as Southside Elementary School held its graduation program for its preschool students on Wednesday, May 31.

“It’s a bright and sunny day in the adventure of parenting,” principal Tara Thomas said.

She explained that the hand prints on the young graduates’ T-shirts indicated how they were part of the community of learning in Wolf Point, the Fort Peck Tribes and northeastern Montana.

“Parents are the first and most important educators,” Thomas said during the program.

She stressed to parents the importance of having their children attend classes on a daily basis.

“We need you here in order that 13 years from now, they are marching at the high school,” Thomas said.
