Cupboard To Close Due To Lack Of Funding

The County Cupboard food bank in Culbertson may close in July. Ashlee Anderson told the Community News that fundraising efforts have dwindled.

A partial shopping trip is planned for the June 27 distribution day, but organizers say this may be the last date for food pickup in the immediate future.

“We’re going to get what we can for $900 and leave a little in the bank so it isn’t totally empty,” said Anderson.

She added that efforts to collaborate with Roosevelt County, the Fort Peck Tribes, the City of Wolf Point and other groups have been unproductive, forcing the pantry to leave the cupboards bare. Residents from across Roosevelt County and the Fort Peck Indian Reservation utilize pantry offerings.

Contact Anderson for more information at 406-787-5374 or by writing to ashleema3119@gmail. com. The County Cupboard is a non-profit organization focused on ending hunger in Roosevelt County.
