The Lustre Christian High School spring concert at the EMB Church was held May 3. The LCHS and Lustre Grade School combined choir sang two songs, Great is Thy Faithfulness and Shine Jesus Shine, under the direction of Debbie Catel.

Those selected to go to Montana State Music Festival on May 5-6 performed their songs next.

Hannah Marasco played piano Sonatina Opus 49 No 2, 1st movement by Beethoven. Diek Olfert on trumpet and Nathan Fast on trombone played a duet called Rock Solid. Hannah Brown (piano) played Hungarian Dance by J. Bahms. Rachel Pew, a soprano soloist accompanied by Meredith Reddig, sang My Favorite Things by Rogers and Hammerstein. Hannah Marasco, soprano soloist, was accompanied by Dan Marasco and sang Panis Angelicus by Cesar Franck.

A quintet of Rachel Pew, Hannah Marasco, Anna Teichroew, Cayden Klatt and Nathan Fast sang Sanctus by Franz Schubert. Grace Brown, Abby Olfert and Diek Olfert played a trumpet trio by Baleson called The Nightingale.

Mason Hilkemann, accompanied by Meredith Reddig played Berceuse by H. Kjerulf on his alto saxophone. Anna Teichroew played Five Bagatelles for Clarinet-Carol by Finzi on her clarinet, accompanied by Meredith Reddig.

An offering to defray expenses for state competition was taken and the LCHS Band, under the direction of Dan Marasco, treated attendees to four great pieces — Toccata and Choral by James Curnow, The Piper and the Captain (The Piper’s Dance, My Love is Coming Home, The Captain) by Chester G. Osborne, Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing by Randall Standridge and Swing Fever by Sorenson & Pearson.

All the entries for State Music Festival May 5-6 received a superior ratings except the quintet and the clarinet solo, which excellent ratings. Mr. and Mrs. Marasco, Mr. and Mrs. Hilkemann and Sarah Brown accompanied the musicians to state.

LCHS track team is doing excellent this year.

Justin Klatt was the speaker at the junior-senior banquet held last weekend.
