The Culbertson Town Council held its regular meeting Thursday, March 9. DeAnne Weeks spoke during the public comment period on several subjects including ongoing efforts to fund the bathhouse project.

Ken Forbregd told the council that Ike’s Fishing Pond and Walking Trail is expecting 4 to 10 more memorial benches at the site. The first, dedicated to the memory of David Manning, has already been installed.

Attorney Laura Christoffersen and the council held a public hearing to develop and review ordinance language for specific use standards and regulations for the sale, manufacture and distribution of marijuana in the commercial and industrial districts of Culbertson. Talks are ongoing.

Jeremy Fadness with WWC Engineering told the council that the MDT Highway 2 Project is set to start mid-April with two crews, one on each end of town.

A site/sketch plan was approved for MDT for its temporary concrete plant at the old seed plant south of Highway 2 east of town.

Clerk Terri Merrill was approved to attend the Montana Municipal Institute’s meeting in Bozeman at the end of April.

Meeting minutes and financials were approved for February.

The next regular meeting is set for April 10 at 6:30 p.m.
