Froid/Lake Girls Advance With Victory Over Fairview, 47-19

Froid/Lake qualified for the divisional tournament in convincing fashion as the Red Hawks defeated Fairview, 4719, in the fifth-place game of the District 2C girls’ basketball tournament on Monday, Feb. 20.

The Red Hawks jumped out to a 14-1 advantage in the first quarter as Baylee Davidson led the attack with nine points. Brooklyn Nordwick hit a three-pointer and Mara Salvevold added a baseline shot in the period.

Ahead by an 18-3 margin in the second period, Froid/ Lake accounted for 10 of the next 12 points on five points by Nesbit, two free throws by B. Nordwick and a three-pointer by Addison Elvsaas.

A 15-footer by Jaeleigh Davidson ended the half with the Red Hawks up by a 30-9 margin.

Froid/Lake led 35-15 after a low scoring third quarter.

B. Davidson was Froid/ Lake’s top scorer with 14 points.

Also scoring were Nesbit with nine, B. Nordwick with seven, Isabella Nordwick with five, Salvevold with four, J. Davidson with three, Elvsaas with three and Alexa Nelson with two points.

Macy Tjelde led Fairview with 15 points.
