Culbertson Council Hires Merrill As Clerk

The Culbertson Town Council held their regular meeting Thursday, Feb. 9. There was no public comment.

Jeremy Fadness from WWC Engineering told the council that a pre-construction meeting is planned for March 6 to prepared for spring work on the Montana Department of Transportation’s Highway 2 project.

A resolution was passed to accepting a grant/loan package for use at Big Sky Airport from MDT Aeronautics.

Ken Forbregd from Ike’s Fishing Pond and Hiking Trail received approval from the council to have WWC assist in preparations for a grant and Lion’s Club funded concrete pad/path.

Attorney Laura Christoffersen gave the town an update on pending conditional use permits for cannabis dispensaries. A public hearing was set for March 9 at 6 p.m.

A resignation was accepted from town clerk Connie Schultz. The council approved Terry Merrrill as a replacement. She will start in the position March 1.

Minutes were approved for the January meting and financials and claims were approved for January bills.
