PSC Approves MDU’s Request For Increase
The Montana Public Service Commission approved by a 3-2 margin last week a request by Montana Dakota Utilities to raise its electric rates.
The interim rate increase is 2.6 percent. Residential customers will pay on average an additional $2.33 a month.
MDU officials report the primary reason for the request is because of increased investments since 2018. Projects have included an 88 megawatt simple cycle combustion turbine.
Montana-Dakota serves about 25,600 electric customers in 30 Montana communities.
