Centennial Stampede Committee Planning Auction For April 21

To generate interest and revenue for this year’s Wolf Point Wild Horse Stampede, members of the centennial stampede committee are planning live and silent auctions on Friday, April 21.

Committee member Jerald Petersen said the “Saddle Up and Open Shoots For the 100th annual Wolf Point Wild Horse Stampede” will take place in the Wolf Point Elks Event Center’s downstairs lounge and will feature many quality items.

“It will be a big night to get it going,” Petersen said of anticipation for the Stampede.

The committee has also been busy developing a budget and has booked a stage for the weekend.

Also during the Wolf Point Chamber meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 3, A.J. Allen said the Optimist Club’s bazaar attracted more than 40 vendors this holiday season.

The Angel Tree project helped 75 area children have a merry Christmas.

Future ideas for the Optimist Club include an ice skating event and a drive-through dinner during the middle of February.

Wolf Point athletic director Eric Peterson said help is needed for the Eastern C basketball tournament in Wolf Point on March 1-4.

Among the assistance that Peterson is looking for are people to help work the scorers table and keep statistics.

The Wolf Point Chamber’s board of directors will next meet on Jan. 31, at the Sherman Inn.
