Re-enactors To Be Part Of Stampede Celebration

Entertainment from the High Plains Drifters will be part of the Wolf Point Stampede’s 100th celebration next July.

Members of the re-enactors group, Johnny Olson, Dan Hutchinson and Shane Reed, attended the planning committee meeting on Monday, Nov. 28.

The group will hold a gun fight and provide three of four skits right after the Saturday parade. The group will also be part of the parade both days.

Olson noted that a safety demonstration to educate children will be part of the show.

During the meeting, the committee also discussed holding a fund-raising auction sometime in the spring. Ideas included having experiences, such as fishing and hunting trips, as part of the items offered.

Wolf Point Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture president Aaron Kurokawa said that Jared Stewart and Jarred Hanson have each committed to entertain during street dances.

Pastor Arch Woodstock will organize a Cowboy Church service for the Sunday of Stampede.

Organizers said a wagon train will happen.

Cody Larson will organize the Human Stampede. Karolyn Kohl is willing to help with the run.

Other ideas discussed included bouncy houses and chicken droppings Bingo.

An announcement will be made in January regarding the theme for the parade.

Activities on Wednesday will include a ranch rodeo and a pitchfork fondue with a concert.
