Instruction has gone well at Northside Elementary School during the first quarter, Principal Georgie Gourneau is glad to report.

“I have a good team of teachers. Everybody supports each other,” Gourneau said.

The quarter will be capped with an awards ceremony on Thursday, Nov. 10. Awards will include A honor roll, A/B honor roll, perfect attendance and students of the month.

Another upcoming highlight is Amanda Boyd and the Pretty Iron Feather Dancers coming for a performance at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 22.

Northside, which features 154 students, has upcoming learning opportunities scheduled with Dr. Julie Alexander-Ruff regarding a program that focuses on cultural values and consultant Will Henry providing anti-bullying instruction.

Gourneau said Red Ribbon Week included a presentation from special agent Raul Figueroa to discuss the danger of drugs.

One day this fall, members of the Wolf Point High School football team adopted fifth-grade students as Little Wolves. The younger students got to wear jerseys and took part in a team meal.

Instruction with the new math curriculum is going well. The visual aspects have been beneficial to students, Gourneau said.

The addition of physical education teacher Jacob Boysun and administrative assistant Linda Warmbrod have been positive notes this fall.
