Man Dies In One-Vehicle Crash

Ryan Spotted Bird, 29, of Brockton died in a single vehicle accident near Wolf Point during the early morning hours of Wednesday, Sept. 28.

The Montana Highway Patrol reports that the man was traveling east on BIA Route 1. After going through a stop sign on the intersection of BIA Route 1 and Montana Highway 13, he drove through the intersection, off the road and hit a tree.

The Montana Highway Patrol was called to the scene at 7 a.m., but the crash is believed to occurred at about 1:30 a.m.

Speed was determined to be a factor in the crash, which is still under investigation.

The Montana Highway Patrol is serving as the primary investigators of the crash. Other agencies who were involved were the Fort Peck Tribes and Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Office.
