Bigger Sky Kids will honor its current lineup of student artists at a community reception to be held at Missouri Breaks Brewing in Wolf Point Aug. 27 from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m.

Matejovsky said over the course of the 2021–22 academic year, nine students in Cathryn McIntyre’s studio art class completed a total of 29 paintings and drawings for exhibit. Their work will be on display at the Breaks gallery. Seven artists also entered 10 artworks in the 2022 Roosevelt County Fair in Culbertson. They came away with 10 ribbons — six blue and four red.

Featured artists are Taylor Shumway, grade four; River Tapaha, grade five; Cadence Bouldin, Justyne Martell and Stephanie Martell, grade six; Dana Buckles, Thomas Moudree and Jeina Reum, grade seven; and student mentor Quiarrah Rios, freshman.

Bigger Sky Kids welcomes students from grade four through eight. In addition to the studio art class, they offer a wide variety of activities, including computer graphics, dance, working with watercolor and acrylics, games, legos and more.

The program is free to participating families. For information, visit the program page at biggerskykid.org or contact Barbara Olson, bolson@ biggerskykids.org.
