The Fort Peck Community College’s Chante’ program reached out to the community with a color walk/run at Wolf Point High School on Thursday, Aug. 4.

Despite temperatures above 100 degrees, the fun activity attracted about 25 individuals, which most of them being children.

Participants from Wolf Point and Poplar each ran at least two laps around the track.

Shirts were available for all the participants.

Organizers explained that funds were used before the finish of the current grant cycle at the of September.

Officials are waiting to hear from the Department of Education whether the next grant has been approved.

The FPCC Chanté Project works to prepare middle and high school students on the Fort Peck Reservation for healthy, fulfilling and productive adult lives.
