Area 4-H Camps Feature Science, Crafts

The 4-H Camp 2022 was held at the Beacon Bible Camp north of Frazer June 27-29. The event involved campers from five counties: Valley, Daniels, Sheridan, Roosevelt and Richland.

This year’s camp theme was centered around constellations. Campers learned about phases of the moon and Mars Rover from science and engineering activities.

Other activities included tie-dying t-shirts, geocaching, archery, a talent show and campfires with s’mores.

The 4-H Camp uses an outdoor setting to enhance life skill development and contribute to the positive self-concept of youth campers and counselors.

Cloverbud Day Camp 2022 was held at the fairgrounds in Culbertson June 15.

Activities for the day included a scavenger hunt and learning the 4-H pledge, coloring farm animal pictures, making a peacock craft and butter in a jar. The Cloverbud members made cow headbands to wear celebrating the special guest, the VandenBos Jersey calf, and they all visited the nursing home.

The Cloverbud members and residents all enjoyed root beer floats and fresh homemade butter with crackers.
